The weather is still unpredictable, but the warmer weather over the past two days has prompted me to look at some summer dresses. As I’m undergoing laser hair removal treatments on my legs, I want to avoid exposure of them to the sun, maxi dresses are perfect. This pink one by Miss Selfridge has a delightful ditsy floral print, cut out detailing at the back, and is reasonably priced at £39, might decide to buy some pink polyester material and line it myself.
The prettiest collection of dresses imaginable, a few of my favourites below. I don’t think I’ve ever been so enamoured by designer fashion before 🙂
Such a pretty dress worn by Myleene at a Sony Radio Awards event. The sheer lace top is a bit daring for daytime or evening come to think of it!, much prefer a bit of lining as I don’t want my bra on display to all and sundry. Not sure who made this dress but a similar style is this one by ASOS:
I have to admit that I’ve never been to London Zoo – shocking admission since I’ve lived in London since I was 18! It was always on my list of places to visit in the summer months, but never got around to it. I thought I’d wait until my nephew was a little older, then I’d have an excuse 🙂
My good university friend emailed me asking me if I wanted to go for a girls evening out at their Zoo Lates event which runs from 7th of June to 26th of July 2013 and as the name suggests, starts late from 6pm until 10pm. Booking in advance means that it only cost me £15, a ticket in pdf format is emailed to you which you just print and take along on the day.
I’ve googled it and there are a lot of pictures on flickr, it looks like a fun evening out, and a bit different to the boring dinner and/or drinks on a Friday night. I was meant to be saving this month given my extended laser treatments (more on this in another post), but I was worried it would sell out and the advance ticket price was reasonable. Hoping the weather improves!
It’s refreshing to see women of colour front beauty campaigns. Although, I’m not a nude makeup fan (prefer pinks myself), I have to admit the image of the model is absolutely beautiful – she’s striking!
This is just gorgeous, reminds me of my vintage gunne-sax dress that I bought off ebay and which is still in pristine condition. Super sweet and girly for summer strolls in the park…
It seems that the trend for cuts in clothes to expose flesh has transcended from Autumn (cut out shoulder jumpers) to Summer. ASOS have two lovely summer dresses with cut out detailing, but I feel they’re best reserved for when the weather is considerably warmer and probably whilst on holiday on a beach – a bit too much exposure for daily wear, unless of course you’re a teen, then you’d probably get away with it!
My preference is for subtle flesh exposure 🙂 This dress by Topshop is a great way of investing in the trend – a pretty 50’s style tea dress with a twist.
